Roberto Pistolesi
Roberto Pistolesi is an outstanding jazz drummer whose work is appreciated around Europe and overseas.
He toured the world with saxophonist Stefano Di Battista, and he played with world-known artists like Francesco Cafiso, Antonio Faraò, David Liebman, David Binney, Steve Grossman, and more recently with top musicians in the Netherlands, as Peter Beets, Benjamin Herman, Tineke Postma.
With the project “Open Lands And Moving People”, Roberto wants to puts in music the impressions he has got from the research and travels of the last 3 years. The material that comes from this experience has a unique style and sound. Roberto aims to give the listener an impression of big spaces, cities or natural environments, and of the movements of the people who inhabit them. The musical journey is made possible by a solid bunch of outstanding musicians, contributing to it with their own compositions and artistry: Daniel Juàrez on tenor, Àlvaro Del Valle on guitar, Jorge Castaneda on piano, and bassist Tono Miguel.
The music that comes out is a mixture of harmonic power, lyricism and rhythmic research. Expressive skills, sharpness and interplay are the very features of this quartet.
