PAULA BILÁ QUINTET
Paula Bilá es una cantautora de origen Chiclanero. Siembra sus raíces musicales en Irlanda con tan solo 18 años. Es en Dublín donde graba su primer álbum, “ Love & hate”, trabajo producido por Bill Shanley (Ray Davies), donde colaboran músicos como Liam Bradley (Van Morrison) o Binzer Brenan (The Frames). Gracias a la gran acogida de este trabajo, la cantante giró por diferentes países como Inglaterra, Irlanda o Canadá, participando en festivales como el “Canadian music week Toronto” en 2014. Su segundo trabajó se fraguó en la ciudad de Madrid junto al productor y bajista Manu Sanz (Cosmosoul). Fue un proyecto ilusionante que refleja las influencias del folk, blues y soul de la cantautora. Actualmente, Paula se encuentra en su ciudad natal. La cantante está trabajando en su próximo sencillo con el productor David León y colaborando con otros músicos de la provincia como el contrabajista Joan Masana o el pianista Javier Galiana.
Al piano, el San Roqueño Juan Galiardo, Juan es uno de los pianistas de jazz más respetados y destacados del panorama Graduado Magna Cum Laude por el Berklee College of Music de Boston, USA (2004). Anteriormente cursó la titulación de Educación Musical en la Universidad de Cádiz (1998). Beneficiario de la "Berklee European Scholarship Tour" así como de la Beca para el Perfeccionamiento de las Artes Escénicas y Musicales en el Extranjero de la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía. En Berklee le es concedido el premio especial del Chair del Piano Department 2004.Es uno de los pianistas más requerido en la actualidad y trabaja habitualmente con figuras internacionales y los mejores músicos del país. Ha trabajado con músicos de prestigio internacional como; Jerry Bergonzi, Gregory Hutchinson, Reuben Rogers, Eric Alexander.Juan ha acompañado las voces de Sheila Jordan, Norma Winstone, Deborah Carter, Kelly Sae, Sinne Eg, Delee Dubé, María Joao, Pedro Ruy Blas, Javier Ruibal, Viktorija Pilatovic y Celia Mur entre otras. Su enérgica forma de tocar, su sensibilidad e imaginación y su extenso conocimiento de diversos estílos pianísticos, como el de McCoy Tyner o Wynton Kelly, lo convierten en un músico insólito y extraordinario.
A la trompeta Bruno Calvo Anillo (Cádiz, 1991). Comenzó a tocar la trompeta a los 5 sños de la mano de su padre, trompetista de profesión. Debido a la gran afición de éste por la música negra americana, Bruno estuvo en contacto con discos y músicos de jazz desde muy temprana edad. Desde los 8 a los 18 años estudió música clásica en el Real Conservatorio Manuel de Falla de Cádiz, a la par que asistió a diversos seminarios y cursos de jazz en los que impartió clases con Joe Magnarelli, Jerry Bergonzi o Dick Oatts entre otros y compartió escenario con los más destacados músicos localesBruno Calvo es en la actualidad una de las principales voces emergentes de la música improvisada internacional. Sus raíces musicales se basan principalmente en la música afroamericana. Sin embargo, su sonido personal tiene claros tintes de otros estilos como la música clásica y el flamenco.
Al contrabajo José López. Comienza su formación en Real Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Manuel de Falla” en Cádiz y acaba licenciándose en el Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo en Barcelona, donde estudia con Horacio Fumero y David Mengual. En el año 2019-2020 adquiere el Máster en Investigación Musical por la Universidad Internacional de Valencia.
Actualmente reside en Barcelona y trabaja habitualmente como contrabajista con numerosas personalidades del panorama musical español de Jazz: Pedro Cortejosa, con el que recibe, en el Festival Internacional de Granada 2003, el premio al mejor grupo andaluz de jazz y ha grabado cuatro discos, Juan Galiardo, Javier Galiana, Arturo Serra, la Sonora Big Band, Jesús Lavilla, Manolo Perfumo, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Carme Canela, Deborah Carter, Salvador Sobral, Luís Balaguer, Gianni Gagliardi, Julián Sánchez, Ernesto Aurignac, Enrique Oliver, Jorge Rossi, Luis Balaguer, Guillem Arnedo, Jose Carra y un largo etcétera. En el ámbito flamenco a trabajado para Dorantes, El Lebrijano, Las Migas y Diego Amador «El Churri». También ha trabajado para Javier Ruibal, El Kanka, The Black Barbies y es contrabajista del grupo La Canalla. Trabajó en el programa Las mil y una noches de Canal Sur durante 4 temporadas.
José Benítez Baterista nacido en Algeciras residente en Barcelona, donde en 2015 recibió el premio extraordinario en la modalidad de Jazz y Música Moderna al finalizar sus estudios superiores en el Conservatorio del Liceo. Ha recibido clases de maestros como Aldo Caviglia, Juan de la Oliva, Johnny Vidacovich, Ramon Prats, Gergo Borlai, o Gregory Hutchinson entre otros.
BIG MENU, junto a Pedro Campos y Enric Peinado, es un proyecto con él que han recorrido gran parte de la península española, Europa, Latinoamérica y Estados Unidos. Ha trabajado con artistas como Nathy Peluso, Rels B, Foyone, Bejo, Escandaloso Xpósito, Diego Amador, Juli Giuliani, Dano, Delaossa, Cruz Cafuné, Dani Ribba, Lou Fresco, Pedro LaDroga entre muchos otr@s.
Actualmente trabaja con El Kanka con el que ha grabado su último disco y ha girado por toda España y Latinoamérica desde 2016.
También ha trabajado con Carmen Boza, Raynald Colom (Steel), Zalon (ex corista de Amy Winehouse), Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, La Canalla, Vic Mirallas, Chico Jorge entre otrxs y ha compartido escenario con músicos como Perico Sambeat, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Gary Burton, Salvador Sobral, Albert Bover, David Soler, Loli Molina, Kiko Veneno, Laura Simó, Javier Ruibal, Martín Leiton, Carme Canela, Santi de la Rubia, Raúl Rodriguez, Xavi Torres, Bruno Calvo, Lluc Casares, etc.
